is Back! Over the years the big screen plasma TV has had a rough road. The problem was burn-in. If you left movies, games, or your DVR on pause for long periods, older models of plasma TVs would have an after-image permanently burned into the screen. That was a big problem for most people. However, with recent advances in plasma technology this is no longer a problem. The money saved on a plasma can be used to buy the required stand or wall mount, or you could also upgrade to a larger size. Another major advantage of plasma is nearly unlimited viewing angle. With LCD, rear-projection, and other TVs you need to sit directly in front of the set in order to get the full color and picture quality. As you angle away from center you can lose a lot of the experience. Plasma makes it possible for people other than the person in the center chair to enjoy the picture and quality. By Adam Ebner (chicago, illinois) - I was going back and forth between the 720p and the 1080p and I could not see a difference, they had both side by side, and for the $700 difference it was not worth it to me. I bought the TV at best buy because they matched a competitor online price and that also brought the 4 year warranty down to only $159! Once the tv was delivered (free!) and my HD from directv was set up (free!) I was blown away by the quality. Great color and sharpness, I have it hooked up via HDMI and it is great. My brother has the samsung 1080p and I can't tell the difference. The connections are conviently located on the left side of the back of the tv and the sd card slot which is a great addition is on the left side of the tv along w/ some more inputs. It took me about a week or so to finally customize my own picture setting, I did not like the preset ones that much, either to dark or the vivid is to bright and contrasty. There is no VGA input but I got the pc hooked up via the s-video. Only downfall is if you use the SD card slot to view pictures it is very very slow at processing them, I suggest using the usb slot or the cords that came with the camera. Overall I would definetly suggest this tv especially for the price, you cannot find a better deal on a new release plasma tv.
By Gilberto V. Ballesteros (usa) - This is a well made TV. Its built solid. PRO... The picture is as good as my eyes can tell between TV's. If there is someone that says otherwise they got super vision . The blacks are dark and the white is brilliant but wont blind me and don't overpower the tv. The color is good out of the box. The red in the bottom locks really god in my living room and people seem to notes it in a good way at first glance. The base is all glace and it also has a touch of read on it that is cool. The price is good. Weather you get it on sale 898 or retail 1299 it a good deal. "try and get it 898" CON... The tv gets warm. Even if left on along time it does not get hot, but the warmth does radiate. To me that's good in winter, but in the summer I am going to have to keep an eye on it. There is a slight burn in problem. There is a feature to help prevent that, but it happens. Especially playing video games. If it's something white it will make a slight mark when covered by a black screen. There is a setting that in about 10 second gets rid of it. The burn in is not that noticeable though. That's just me nitpicking. SELF FIX... This TV does not have the biggest speakers, but that don't stop it from barking. The base in them sounds horrible. So by lowering the 100Hz setting in sound options I was able to get rid of that problem. Now the speakers are actually really good. The blacks are a bit to dark. I got a DVD with a THX Self TV fix in it, and used a really good black to white bar that helped me keep my blacks dark but not all of them that dark. Now it has a much better aspect ratio. SUMMARY... This was the best TV You can get at this price. Even if you go up 600 bucks its a match. I got mine at 897 and to me its almost worth the double. There are some people that say it don't have feature like online. With now a days if you want a TV like this you most likely have a PS3, Xbox or BluRay. That's more than enough features to me. And if you want Internet on your TV don't bother paying an extra 300. Just spend that money in a PS3 and get this TV.
